I, like many Americans I know, have checking and savings accounts, credit cards (plus debt), student loans, and a mortgage.  I even have a monthly rent payment now because I am not living in my mortgaged home.  There is the electricity, the groceries, the charity donations, the rock climbing gym membership, etc to pay for.  Somehow it has to be easier than living paycheck to paycheck which is how I typically did it.  The critical factor right now is that I don’t even have a paycheck!  I was laid off earlier this year and, thankfully, have a severance to get me through the next 6 months or so.  The thing is, I have no interest in returning to corporate America.  For me, seven years was enough.  I am far more interested in doing other things.  So you see, there is a sense of urgency (not stress, mind you) to my personal Millionaire Year challenge.

I don’t know a thing about investing, the real estate market is certainly NOT in my favor right now and I don’t currently have any income.  Sounds ridiculous to consider a million in a year right?  My goal, as I mentioned before, is to be a student of wealth.  You can too!  Stay tuned…
